Transforming for Success:

How the IIoT will change the business models of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)

Digital transformation and everything it entails is a necessity for all production companies, but how do we embrace new technologies in our organisation and use it to generate profits?

Constantly developing the business model is essential for staying ahead of competition in today’s industry.

This includes getting online which is becoming increasingly important in order to ensure great performance in Smart Industry and to really harvest the benefits of the industry development.

Data collection provides new and exciting business opportunities but also raises the question about data ownership and how entire business models can be changed and built upon data. We will need to acknowledge this and think strategically about IIoT by aligning technology and business in an entirely new fashion.

This year, Smart Industry Forum has composed an agenda that gives you both the inspiration, the insights and the tools for your business to navigate for the future ahead. Add value by establish a strategy between embracing new technologies finding new business models combined with attention to the human capacities available – this is crucial for success.

From Thursday morning to Friday afternoon, industry experts and influencers will go through the current hot topics and bring you fully up-to-date on the business model aspect of IIoT as they present their views, insights and knowledge on the subject as well as engage in discussion and challenge existing views.

Day 1: Business models of the future

The first day of the Smart Industry Forum Summit will give you inspiration from all angles by industry experts.

From an end user perspective, Amazon Web Services will reveal their view on the possibilities for the manufactures to self-optimise their future markets.

From stakeholders like World Economic Forum and from other machine builders who have succeeded to work strategically with digitalisation and changed their business models. We will also present inspiring examples of how new technologies like Additive Manufacturing, today mainly used for prototyping, are proving their value in series production of machines, making Batch Size 1 a reality.

Day 2: How to transform data into profit

On the second day, we will deep dive into the two of the fundamental areas that are crucial for the machine builders in order to navigate through the emerging business landscape.

The delegates at the Summit will be divided in two smaller groups in order to create a more open and involving forum for industry dialogue. Everybody will participate in both Challenge Sessions:

Business model design: What is today’s best practice? How to benefit from front-runner experience? How can we get started in our traditional industrial organizations?

Internal compass – Innovation, organization & skills: Constantly challenging your business model requires entrepreneurial mindset and new skills in the organisation.

Our power-package of inspiration and information includes:

  • A joint look on our Innovation Radar: Future trends and technologies for the OEM market
  • Experiences and demands from an end user perspective

After attending this year’s Summit you will have:

  • Insights from industry experiences and experts
